While manoeuvring our caravan into a restricted site recently, and getting into a bit of a tiswas, I managed to mangle the rear corner a bit.
Obviously (isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing) I should have got out and had a look before reversing, just to see how much room I had available; not as much as I thought as it turns out. Possibly a bit of pride swallowing would have allowed me to unhitch and use the motor-mover, but that’s more hindsight for you!
The next step is to find a repair person that understands ABS welding and gouge filling. The Thetford toilet access door will have to be replaced I think as the dimpled finish has been left on a fence post, but hopefully the awning rail can be straightened.
I now understand that I cannot reverse our caravan quite as accurately as I had convinced myself that I could. Ouch indeed!
