Hollins Hall Farm is a working dairy farm situated to the west of Harrogate in North Yorkshire just off the A59.
It is a basic CMC CL site offering good value which we used for a two day stopover on our journey further north.
The site, whilst feeling compact is sufficient for five units without overcrowding. Most of the site is grassed but there is an area of hard standing occupied by a single motorhome while we were there. The two pitches at the bottom of the site are the most level. The grass was in good condition with a commendable absence of clippings.
Milking operations commence around 6am in the adjacent milking parlour, so be prepared, but the view compensates for that.
Unfortunately there aren’t any walks from the farm that doesn’t involve walking up their driveway to the main road, so the site didn’t gain very high marks from our dog. That could possible be also due to it being his first close encounter with livestock, something that didn’t seem to overly impress him, for if he hadn’t been firmly attached to his lead, he would have bolted for home.
